A change in size to the books happend in 1988 with CONTACT 4. This lead to a change to the page format and gave the contributor more room to show off their work. It proved to be a great succcess.

CONTACT 4 also saw the book split into 2 separate contained within a slip case. It was 3 times the size of the previous year.

CONTACT 5 Photographers & Illustrators

A return to a single volume for this year, but this would be the last time they shared the same covers as the book was causing problems on binding. This edition had 700 individuals and used 35tons of paper!
